Well, the break in the weather (On Sunday it was 35 — 35! — when we woke up) has got us just a little giddy here at Downeast. Thoughts of Spring fill our heads. Not too long before we’ll be setting out tomato plants. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
Oh yes, we’re excited too about budget hearings beginning this week.
And the Education Committee is doing some exciting things too; who wouldn’t be thrilled to know our solons are considering requiring “the Teaching of Mental Health Awareness in Middle Schools Based on a National Curriculum?” Or that they might “Amend the Special Education, School Health and School Nutrition Laws Regarding Scoliosis Screening, the School Lunch Program, Transitional Services, Gifted and Talented Education Programs and the Maine Mentoring Partnership Grant Program?” Hard at work they are, there in Augusta, just legislating away!
One more thing: be sure to stop by the new Downeast Breakfast site, where we serve breakfast 24 hours a day!
