The Baldacci letter is a model of misdirection, an attempted diversion from the essential issues around consolidation.

The important question about consolidation has always been why?  In the great scheme of things, the money “saved”, if any is truly saved, is not much, not compared to the deliberate alienation of communities from their schools that consolidation creates.
